It has just been officially announced that the Tennessee Titans have transferred Kevin Walter to the in-season PUP list. That means he will not be eligible to play for the first six weeks of the season. It also means that he gets paid this season.
Is there really any point to keep Walter around? Sure, he is a fine player, but he is, at best, the sixth best receiver on this roster when healthy, and that might be generous because that puts him ahead of Michael Preston.
It doesn't really matter that he is on PUP other than the money, so I guess it isn't a big deal either way, but it just doesn't make sense to me.
