Fantasy football advice: Kendall Wright is a risky pick this season

A tip for our fantasy football friends: Draft Kendall Wright at your own risk.

Sam Greenwood

Before last week the reviews about Kendall Wright's preseason work had been glowing. He was tabbed by some as the best receiver in camp, and there has been a lot of talk about him being featured more in the Dowell Loggains offense. All of that came to a screeching halt when he banged his knee on the turf in Cincinnati.

Now Wright is more of a wait and see guy- especially when it comes to your fantasy teams. In fact, Evan Silva who is one of the best fantasy football writers out there, lists Wright on his top 40 to shy-away from:

16. Titans WR Kendall Wright -- Beat writers claimed Wright was the best wideout at Titans camp, but the coaching staff never rewarded him. He played sparingly with the first-team offense in preseason games before spraining his right knee on August 17. Already "competing" for targets in a muddled receiver corps within Tennessee's low-percentage passing offense, Wright stands little to no chance of breaking out this year. It'll happen eventually. Just not in '13.

I am not sure that his breakout season won't be in '13, but if it is, it will be late in the season. If you are in a dynasty league take him late. If you are in a one-year league you might want to avoid him.
