Some members of the Nashville media talked to Bernard Pollard about the now famous note that hangs in his locker yesterday. Here is what he had to say about it:
Exactly what it says. Our mission is to kill. If you want to take that and run with it, say what you want to say about it, then take it and go. Our mission is to go in and beat teams, to stop them on drives. To hit players, and when we hit them we are going to knock the piss out of them. We cannot give a rat's tail about how teams feel about us the way we hit. That's the mentality we have to have. If you come across the middle you are going to get hit. If Roger Goodell wants to fine us then we will take it. At the end of the day it is about us playing football. We are at a disadvantage already as a defense we are going backwards- as a secondary and linebackers we are going backwards. We are taught to react. We are going to play balls out. We are going to piss people off. We are going to knock the piss out of people, and if you don't like it, we are going to do it again.
You can listen to the full audio here (h/t Jonathon Hutton).
I love the attitude that Pollard is bringing to this team. A defense needs that type of attitude to be successful, and they have been lacking it for a long time.
