McClain, the once promising linebacker, has been released by the Oakland Raiders.

This probably goes without saying, but I was a huge Rolando McClain fan when he came out of Alabama. That dude was a football player, and Nick Saban said McClain was an extension of himself on the field. He seemed like a can't miss prospect.

However, he has gone crazy since he entered the NFL. He has had a host of off the field problems and hasn't been very good on the field. That, my friends, is not a recipe for success.

All of that being said, I don't think it would be a bad idea for the Titans to take a look at him on a league minimum 1-year deal. He would compete with Moises Foku for the back-up middle linebacker spot. Competition is never a bad thing, and his upside makes him worth the risk.
