Chris Burke of Sports Illustrated absolutely loved our draft class and gave us an A-. Here's what he had to say about the class as a whole:
You know what? I loved this draft. G Chance Warmack might be the best player in the whole class, and Tennessee scored him at 10. The Titans kept right on rolling after that, with five more gems — WR Justin Hunter, CB Blidi Wreh-Wilson, OLB Zaviar Gooden (one of my favorite under-the-radar guys this year), C Brian Schwenke and DE Lavar Edwards. An interior defensive lineman would have been nice, but the Titans improved a bunch regardless. Grade: A-minus
He is also a huge fan of the Warmack pick, giving it a solid A.
s it too early for 2014 mock drafts? Yes. But what it's not too early for is college players to watch in 2013. I agree completely with his assessment of Johnny Manziel although I know people on here will disagree.
Adam Rank became one of my least favorite writers for NFL.com when he gave this as his bold prediction for the Titans.
In$ider only unfortunately, but Bill Polian is also a big fan of the Warmack pick.
PK talks about what the Titans could do in terms of usage for Zavier Gooden, the speedy linebacker from Mizzou we drafted in the 3rd round.
PK also looks at how much in terms of value we got for the draft pick that netted us Justin Hunter, in the draft.
The Titans added size, power and speed in the draft. The more I watch of Blidi Wreh-Wilson, the more I like. He could use a little more work on his tackling technique, but all the tools are there. Watch the Louisville game, he does a terrific game against one of college's premier QBs in Teddy Bridgewater.
The Titans also looked at 3 FAs yesterday in Israel Idonije, Jason Allen, and Eric Winston. I really hope we sign Idonije, he would be a major boost to DE depth and add some productivity in rushing the passer and stopping rushers.
Jim Wyatt takes a look at the draft class and what could be next.
Quote of the Day: Not a direct quote, but on one of the radio shows yesterday Munch was asked to compare Justin Hunter to a current or former NFL player, and the radio hosts tried to coax him into saying AJ Green but Munch surprisingly replied with "Randy Moss". Yes. Just Yes. LWSS 2013
