With the 248th and final Titans draft pick of the 2013 NFL Draft, the Titans select: Daimion Stafford S Nebraska
Well, the Titans choose a safety to add some depth to the team. Stafford is a in the box safety and that's it. He's extremely limited in pass coverage and will get exposed as such if he's left out there for any length of time. He doesn't have the proper footwork, speed, or any hip turning ability to stay with a receiver. Perhaps he can add some weight to his frame and convert to a linebacker because safety he is not.
It's unlikely he makes the team out of camp unless severe injuries happen to those in front of him. It's only a seventh round pick so the cost isn't too burdensome to release him. This pick is a wasted and somewhat diminished closing effort to an already stellar class pulled in by Ruston Webster. If it works out, all the better. If not, it's only a very late seventh round compensatory pick.
