Mel Kiper has also put out a second round mock draft (In$ider), and as he usually does, has a pick that makes absolutely no sense for the Titans. He has them taking Robert Woods, WR, USC. Look, Woods might end up being a really good wide receiver in the NFL, but the Titans are not taking a wide receiver with this pick.
A few reasons:
-They have spent a lot of high picks on wide receivers in the last few years.
-While they might want to upgrade the wide receiver corps, they have so many holes on defense that they need to address with these next few picks. There is no reason to spend this pick on a guy that might not even be able to make it onto the field in 2013.
-Is Woods an upgrade over Nate Washington? Maybe in the long-term, but he is not in 2013.
Here was Kiper's commentary on the pick:
Great route-runner, great hands and underrated as a big-play threat.
