Mike Tanier, formerly of Football Outsiders now of Sports on Earth, has put out a mock draft, and he has the Titans taking Sharrif Floyd, DT, Florida. Floyd has been flying up boards lately. There was even some talk of him being in the mix for the #1 overall pick.
For each pick, Tanier did a reason why he loves the pick and a reason why he hates the pick. Here is what he had for the Titans:
Love the Pick: With so many weak teams sort of OK on the defensive line, one of the best players on the board slips to the Titans. Floyd is a natural three-technique disruptor who uses his hands to peel away blockers better than any lineman in this year's class.Hate the Pick: Floyd does nothing to make Jake Locker better, Chris Johnson more consistent or Mike Munchak more innovative.
I have to agree with his hatred of the pick. The Titans have to do something with this pick to improve the offense- unless the do that in free agency, but apparently no one is doing anything in free agency right now....
