Peter King, who misses on a lot of stories about the Titans, said earlier today on the NBC Sports Network that the Tennessee Titans could be in the mix for free agent wide receiver Mike Wallace, according to PFT. The Titans have already been more active in free agency this year than in any year in recent memory with the signing of George Wilson and having Chris Canty in for a visit. Getting in on Wallace would take that to an even higher level.
This Rotoworld report suggests that Nate Washington "wold likely be cut" if the Titans were to sign Wallace. I can't see that happening because Washington has been the most consistent receiver on this team for the past two seasons. Sure, if you were 100% confident in Kenny Britt coming back you don't really need Washington, but they would be stupid to be 100% confident in that.
Of course if the Titans did land Wallace, he would either be terrible or get hurt in 2013 because that is just what happens when they bring in a receiver.
Also, signing Wallace would seem to contradict the report that the Titans are looking to go to more of a short passing game.
