Howard Eskin, a media guy in Philadelphia, is reporting that the Philadelphia Eagles will release CB Nnamdi Asomugha today.

It was just two years ago that Asomugha was the most sought after free agent on the market, and was one of the players the Eagles signed that led Vince Young to make the now infamous Dream Team comment.
So why are the Eagles cutting ties with him today and eating $4 million to do so? Read this article from Ray Didinger of CSN Philadelphia and you will find out. The money quote:
Last season, it appeared at 31 Asomugha had lost his speed. He never was blazing fast but last season he actually looked slow. Receivers were able to run by him. With more teams throwing at him, it exposed weaknesses we had not seen before. For example, his ball skills were shockingly poor. He couldn’t adjust to a ball in the air.
And before you think to yourself, "Self, the Titans should try to sign Nnamdi." Read that article. One of the biggest problems he had in Philadelphia was that he looked lost playing zone. The Titans, at least last year, played zone in the secondary almost exclusively. Square peg meet round hole.
