Don Banks: Ruston Webster and the Tampa 7

New, comments

A great read on how one of the NFL's worst franchise turned itself around, creating the next generation of Front Office superstars

Brian Spurlock-US PRESSWIRE

Don Banks has great new article up on the Front Office talent GM Rich McKay assembled in Tampa in the mid-90's, and how that group made the Bucs in to a winner before spreading out to key positions all over the NFL. It's notable for Titans fans because one of the guys from that crew is current Titans VP/GM Ruston Webster. The other notable members include Rich McKay (current Falcons President and CEO), John Idzik (current GM of the Jets), Jerry Angelo (former Bears GM), Tim Ruskell (former Seahawks GM, currently a scout for the Titans), Mark Dominik (current Bucs GM) and Martin Mayhew (current Lions GM). They've taken the Bears, Bucs and Seahawks to the Super Bowl, and put the Lions back in the playoffs.

I highly encourage you to check it out, especially if you're the type that likes a glimpse behind the NFL Front Office curtain.
