Titans sign Ryan Fitzpatrick

The Titans didn't waste any time finding a replacement for Matt Hasselbeck.

Say what you want about Ruston Webster, but the man always has a backup plan. Just hours after the team announced they were releasing Matt Hasselbeck, they have signed Ryan Fitzpatrick to two-year deal according to Jim Wyatt.

This has been the craziest free agency period in the history of the Titans. Apparently Webster thinks the path to success in the NFL goes through Buffalo (hopefully he doesn't really think that). That makes three former Bills the Titans have signed this offseason, but the good news is that all three guys are clear upgrades over the players they are replacing.

Fitzpatrick might not be able to bring the veteran knowledge to the quarterback room that Hasselbeck did, but he is a better player on the field at this point. He could also push Jake Locker for the starting job if Locker doesn't come into camp ready to play. Competition is never a bad thing.
