According to Aaron Wilson, safety Bernard Pollard visited the Titans on Friday. It must have been a quick and cursory visit as nobody picked up on it until just a few short minutes ago. Pollard is known throughout the league for his hard hitting and was the guy who put Matt Cassel on the map by launching into Tom Brady's knees. Before his tour with the Ravens, he had a stint with the Texans as most of you are familiar with.
Would I sign him? Yes if the price is right. The defensive back market is very slow right now due to a myriad of reasons. There have been multiple one year contracts signed. Pollard if signed by the Titans, would push recent signee George Wilson for a starting job. It's nice to see the front office see the need for competent safety play from their backups after witnessing the horrendous play from the backups. A Pollard signing might push Markelle Martin off the roster entirely or stick him at free safety backing up Michael Griffin. It will be an interesting roster spot fight to see if this signing happens.
Also, thoughts and prayers go out to WR Donte Stallworth as he suffered injuries while riding in a hot air balloon this morning. The good news is that his injuries won't prevent him from playing again.
