In a widely expected move, the Titans have released S Jordan Babineaux today. The recent George Wilson signing made Babineaux not long for this roster. It's a shame that he didn't work out for the Titans during his short stay in Nashville. It seemed like his reputation preceded him at times with his off and on play. I hope he catches on elsewhere to further his career. Best of luck to him.
As for the Titans, with the George Wilson signing, I don't think they'll be targeting a top tier free agent safety in the first couple of days of free agency. I do think they'll address the position at some point when the second tier players come available or during the draft. The safety class this year is loaded with talent with the likes of Matt Elam, Baccari Rambo, Eric Reid, and John Cyprien out of Florida International. The wild card currently on the roster is Markelle Martin, who missed all of last year rehabbing a knee injury suffered in the postseason draft process.
