So after the last post about the Draft Tek simulation, I talked to the "Titans analyst" over at Draft Tek about the reasons that I didn't think a safety in the first round was a good idea, and the reasons that taking two Texas players in the first two rounds was a terrible idea.
He apparently took it to heart, at least a little bit, because the latest simulation has the Titans taking Xavier Rhodes, CB, FSU with this first pick.
However, I don't really understand why the Titans would take a corner with the 10th pick. They do need to add a third guy, but they have much bigger needs than corner- and I don't buy that Rhodes is the "best player available" here.
The rest of the draft played out like this:
2nd round- Travis Frederick, OG, Wisconsin
3rd round- John Simon, DE, Ohio State
4th round- Menelik Watson, OT, FSU
5th round- Kenny Stills, WR, Oklahoma
7th round- Miguel Maysonet, RB, Stony Brook
