Measureables:
Height: 6'2"
Weight: 190 lbs
40 Time: 4.90
Positives:
Very good leg strength as shown by this 55 game winner against Clemson. This ball was absolutely launched. He is also very accurate as shown by his stats below. He was a second team All-American in 2012, and a Lou Groza Award finalist, which goes to the best kicker in the nation. Here's a video FSU did on him. Seems clutch enough.
Negatives:
Had some clutch misses, but bounced back. Small build, but that doesn't really matter at the kicker position.
Stats:
Freshman: 70.3% (19/27), Sophomore: 78.5% (22/28), Junior: 81.5% (22/27), Senior: 83.3% (25/30)
Set FBS record for PKs with 466 pts
Conclusion:
I saw some comparisons to Steven Gostkowski of the Patriots, but to me, Hopkins has a much stronger leg. I would like the Titans to draft Hopkins in the 7th round (because we don't have a 6th) if he's still there and if they haven't re-signed Bironas, as Hopkins would not be paid near as much and we are going to have to look for the GunFingaz replacement soon anyway. Also seems like a standup guy, here's a video of how his faith gets him through his misses and how he doesn't let the moment impact him.
