So Chris Mortensen thinks that Dowell Loggains is "one of the best young play callers in the NFL." He says that some of the best defensive staffs in the NFL will agree.
Has Mortensen talked to those guys or is he just speculating? I don't know, but I have heard him on local radio this season and he LOVES Mike Munchak and Loggains. So you should take anything that he says with a grain of salt.
I still don't know how to feel about Loggains. He had some really good game plans this year, but he also had some games where he looked over-matched. That is probably just part of being a young offensive coordinator (he is less than a year older than I am).
It is too early to give up on him- especially if Munchak is going to be brought back. Hiring another offensive would set this team back quite a bit, and that is not something that Munch can afford in the final year of his contract.
