Titans fans should be in full scouting mode, and there is no better time to scout than during the Bowl games. The highlight of this weekend's games should be the Royal Purple Vegas Bowl between the USC Trojans and the Fresno State Bulldogs. Here is a quick guide on who to watch:
USC
Devon Kennard DE/LB
Kennard is the best pass rusher for the Trojans, and has nine sacks on the year. The Titans should be looking to replace Kamerion Wimbley (and save $5 million) and Kennard could be that guy in round four if the Titans want that type of pass rusher.
Marqise Lee WR
Lee was a preseason top-five lock, but now he likely wont even be in the top-two at his position. Lee has had an up and down year and injuries will hurt his draft stock, but if he has a Justin Hunter type fall and the Titans have a chance to grab him in round two he could be a steal. His ability as a number two WR would round out an already deep and talented Titans WR group that has the ideal number one WR and a nearly-elite slot-WR.
Dion Bailey ?
Bailey doesn't really have a defined NFL position, but much like Antonio Allen and Tyrann Mathieu before him he is a "rover" type player. Bailey's slight frame makes him unlikely to play anywhere in the front seven, but he could be a replacement for Bernard Pollard who plays the NFL facsimile of the rover position for the Titans.
Fresno State
Derek Carr QB
The senior QB is on the fringe of becoming a household name. Without going into depth on how spectacular his numbers are, his decision making is spectacular as is his deep ball ability. Carr all the skills to be the the number two quarterback in this draft class, and if he has a big day against a staunch USC defense then he could even have an argument at the number one spot.
Davante Adams WR
Carr-to-Adams is sort of a "chicken and egg" situation. Is Carr putting up monster numbers because of Adams, or are Devonte's 122 receptions, 1645 yards and 23 TDs a result of him just being that good? Either way, Adams definitely has talent and size and will likely go in the first round. If the Titans manage to trade back with someone interested in their first round pick they may look at Adams for the same reason they would look at Lee.
