Ryan Fitzpatrick played well. In fact he played very well. This was the Fitzpatrick the Titans thought they were signing in the off season and had he played to this level earlier in the season I say the Titans could have pulled out at least one of the close losses from earlier in the season. He ended the night 22-28 for 222 yards and a touchdown. He looked in command of the offense and his throws were crisp and well placed. At least three of his incompletions were drops as well.
Kendall Wright is a beast. Fantasy football players may not think the world of him because of his lack of touchdowns, but he is a true #1 receiver. Kendall Wright wasn't just a favorite of Locker's but has become one of Fitzpatrick also. He has an uncanny knack for separation and getting open, and always gets the tough extra yardage after a catch. A definite bright spot on this team going forward.
Dowell Loggains play calling as well as the offense in general looked brilliant in the first half. Keeping multiple tight ends on the field and running into a no huddle, empty backfield offense really had the Colts confused. The offense marched down the field on consecutive drives and came away with touchdowns. While the lack of adjustments into the second half may be a drawback, the game plan overall off a short week gets a thumbs up from me.
The Titans finally started feeding Delanie Walker the ball like they said they would in the off season. His stat line came in at 10 catches for 91 yards and a touchdown, as he dominated the Colts linebackers and secondary. Delanie is a great blocker as well and is looking like he could be worth every bit of his contract.
This team still has heart. Yes they had another special teams blunder. Yes they let Donald Brown run all over them and left Coby Fleener completely uncovered, but they still payed hard until the end. The team may not know how to win, but they haven't quit on each other or their coach. Something you would expect after losing 5 of the last 6 games.
The Titans are still only one game out of the 6th seed wild card slot in the AFC. While the dynamics of this speak either to the parity in the NFL, or the scrum of mediocrity (depending on how you look at it), the fact remains that the Titans still have a legitimate shot with 6 games left to play. Believe it or not, there's still hope for this team.
