2013 Titans Free Agent Breakdown: Week 5

So how did the additions to the roster play this week? Let's take a closer look.

Scott Cunningham

Bernard Pollard - 6 solo tackles, 1 assist, 1 INT

Pollard played yet another great game on defense. He looks better in the Titans scheme than any previous ones he's played in, and his physical presence has created a trickle-down effect on the rest of the unit. His play was solid throughout against the Chiefs. He led the team in tackles and took advantage of an errant Alex Smith pass to notch his second interception of the year.

Ropati Pitoitua – 3 solo tackles, 1 assist, 1 sack

Another good game for Pitoitua, who recorded a sack in his second straight game. "RoPo" has been a boon for the Titans against the run, but was also part of a unit who failed to contain Jamaal Charles on Sunday. The DE played a good game however, and like the rest of the team, it could have been even better for him had the offense produced more often and gotten him a breather.

Ryan Fitzpatrick - 21/41, 247 yards, 1 TD, 2 INTs

Fitzpatrick finally got to show Titans fans why he was brought to Nashville...while also showing them why he lost his starting job in Buffalo. I found that, while he is capable of making good throws, the underneath routes don't come easy for him, and his constant jitters even in relatively clean pockets caused far too many incompletion. His bad throws in the 4th were nails in the coffin, and what makes it especially egregious was that the first was completely unnecessary. With 4+ minutes of play, he had plenty of time to guide the offense down the field in chunks, but instead he pulled the trigger on the big throw...twice. He's going to have to improve in the coming weeks with Locker still on the sideline.

Delanie Walker - 4 catches, 43 yards

Walker had some good moments and some not so great moments, notably in the run blocking department. However, that seemed to be a trend throughout the team on Sunday. Everyone forgot how to block. I found myself wishing he had somehow pirouetted into the end zone on a drive which ultimately left the Titans with zero points to show for it. He has been better every week so far, and I feel like him and Locker could have a good relationship in the years ahead.

Andy Levitre - Struggled (I'm too annoyed to discuss this one further)

Moise Fokou – 5 solo tackles, 2 assists

Jackie Battle – 6 carries 38 yards (37L)

That 37 yard-long tells you all you need to know. It was a rough day for Battle, as well as just about everyone else when it came to running the ball.

George Wilson – 2 solo tackles, 3 assists

Rob Turner - Awful...Again (As with Levitre, I'm not even going to dignify this one with a breakdown. You all know how it goes with "Nasty Rob" by now)

Antonio "Mookie" Johnson - 1 solo tackle, 1 sack

Johnson has quietly produced when called upon so far this year, and his big body has given the Titans interior defensive line even more quality depth.

Sammie Hill – OUT

Shonn Greene - OUT
