Dan Brugler of CBS has released a mock draft, and he has the Titans going with Chance Warmack, OG, Alabama with the 10th pick. There was a point in my life, a couple of weeks ago, that I was against an interior lineman with the 10th pick. I have completely changed that stance now.
Think about it this way, Warmack's floor is being a decent guard in the NFL. His ceiling is an All-Pro guard for a decade. The odds there are much better than taking a pass rusher that has a good chance of becoming a bust.
Here is what Brugler had to say about the pick:
As a former offensive lineman who was drafted in the top-10, Titans head coach Mike Munchak will undoubtedly be impressed with Warmack and with the future of both their starting guards (LeRoy Harris, Steve Hutchinson) in doubt, the Tide guard make sense here.
Here is something that is interesting though, CBS also has a Rob Rang draft and Brugler's draft side by side here. Rang has the Titans taking Sheldon Richardson, which I discussed here, and Warmack falling all the way to the Rams at 22. That is a lot like the David DeCastro last season. He ended up going late in the first, but some people had him going to 10.
