Jim Wyatt is reporting that the Titans have hired Chet Parlavecchio to be the linebackers coach. That job has been open since the team let Frank Bush go a couple of weeks ago. Parlavecchio has been a special teams assistant for the last two years.
We all assumed Parlavecchio was going to be named special teams coach after Alan Lowry was fired, but Mike Munchak had other plans for his former college roommate.
This whole thing is a little confusing to me, but I am not going to pretend to have any idea if Parlavecchio will be a good linebackers coach or not. Munchak obviously doesn't have any idea either, but every good coach got his start somewhere. Maybe Parlavecchio is a diamond in the rough and will end up being the greatest linebacker's coach this team has ever seen.
He does have one thing going for him, he has a talented group of young players to coach.
