Whenever a position coach gets fired in the NFL fans of that team immediately want to replace him with a guy that played for their team for a long time that is now retired. So yesterday when it was announced that the Titans were letting Frank Bush go, naturally the first person I thought of to fill the position was Keith Bulluck. Someone on Twitter had the same idea and "tweeted" to Bulluck. Here was his response:
RT @ryangm2123 @kbull53 titans LB coaching position is open. WE WANT MR MONDAY NIGHT<tell Munch to holla...

Obviously it is hard to tell from that if he is serious about it or not, but I think Bulluck would make a good coach. Not all players can do it, but if you listen to him on the radio*, you know that he has a really good football mind. Some guys go out there and play on really good instincts and talent. There is no doubt that Bulluck has both of those, but he also understands the Xs and Os of the game.
Hiring a former player is not always the best idea, but in this case, if I were Mike Munchak, I would give Keith Bulluck a call.
*Bulluck is on every Friday at 2 central on the Midday 180 on 104.5 in Nashville. You can listen here, and you should.
