The 53 man roster for the Tennessee Titans has seemed pretty obvious throughout training camp. That always means there will be some surprises when cut down day comes. There were a few moves yesterday that raised eyebrows, but nothing that was really shocking.

It was surprising to see them cut Zach Clayton. He had a really good camp by all accounts and had made some plays in games. They chose to keep DaJuan Harris over him. Harris player really well against the Saints and has some upside. The Titans will hope they can get Clayton back on the practice squad, but I wouldn't be surprised if someone claims him on waivers (I also wouldn't be surprised if he clears waivers).

The decision to keep a fullback is a bit perplexing. Quinn Johnson is a fine player, but he doesn't play on special teams and I can't see them getting him on the field for more than 10-12 plays per game. That really seems like a wasted roster spot.

It seemed like Aaron Francisco was pretty much a lock because of his special teams ability, but he was let go in favor of Al Afalava. Depth at safety is a concern for this team going forward. Afalava could be in danger once Markelle Martin is eligible to come off the PUP in six weeks.
