Why does Mike Florio try to make a controversy where there isn't one? This morning he takes a probably from Mike Munchak to break the story that if Jake Locker is really bad the team could bench him and go with Matt Hasselbeck. Well no kidding.

Here is what Munch told Steve Wyche on NFL Network this morning according to Florio:

Wyche asked if Locker would be benched for Matthew Hasselbeck for any reason other than an injury.

"Probably not," Munchak said before eventually adding this caveat: "Unless there’s a reason to make a change."

And I also love how he says the reason the Titans aren't trading Matt Hasselbeck is because they are worried about Locker struggling. I know it would take time to actually analyze the situation, but it seems pretty obvious to me that the reason you keep Hasselbeck around is in case Locker gets hurt. It really has nothing to do with them not having confidence in Locker. If they were that worried about Locker struggling, they wouldn't have named him the starter.
