The first and the fourth preseason games are the worst. We will get to see about a half of guys that will end up making this team. The second half will be a run out the clock situation.
Here are three things to watch from the Titans offense in the first half:
1. The quarterbacks, of course.
Matt Hasselbeck will play a couple of series before Jake Locker takes over for the duration of the half. I am interested to see how Locker looks when he is making throws from the pocket. That, as much as anything, is going to be what wins or loses him the job.
2. CJ2K or CJ2.5YPC?
Chris Johnson will only get about five carries in the game, but I want to see how hard he runs on those carries. He has a lot to prove after the season he had last year.
3. How does Fernando Velasco look at center?
Last year we were all yelling for the Titans to insert Velasco in the starting lineup. Now due to Eugene Amano's injury, the coaches don't have any choice but to throw him out there. I think it is going to be an upgrade.
