Kendall Wright may be more valuable to us than ever thanks to Kenny Britt's
!&%$#^@*!&@% idiocy, but he's still unsigned as the rest of the rookie class starts to trickle in to BSP. At this point, I'd really, really prefer that the front office just pony up the extra guaranteed money to get this guy in-house as soon as possible. It's a drop in the bucket considering all of the cap room we have and the relatively small cap-hit of the contract, and, since there's a shred of legitimacy to their claim, I don't begrudge Wright holding on for a little more guaranteed money in this unpredictable league.
Jim Wyatt reports that at most of the off-season sessions so far, the CB set-up as been McCourty and Verner in the base package. In the nickel, McCourty and Campbell play outside and Verner moves into the slot. That's a big opportunity for Campbell, who has long been an MCM favorite.
Akeem Ayers was solid, but not spectacular as a rookie last year, but Gray and Millard are focusing on getting Ayers more involved as a pass rusher. Ayers is working with his hand on the ground for some passing downs, which could help offset our lack of speed and depth at the DE position.
Alterraun Verner be crunchin' numbers, ya'll.
Who wants to celebrate the return of the Titans and the new renovations to LP Field by... running a 5K? The $70 entry fee ($75 on race day) also includes an official t-shirt, refreshments and a ticket to one of three divisional games: Indianapolis Colts (October 28), Houston Texans (December 2) or Jacksonville Jaguars (December 30). A portion of proceeds will go to charity.
Apparently we're one of the better teams in the league when it comes to running slant routes, which would never have happened before last season. Also, teams would be well-advised to not throw slants at ATV.
Jim Washburn is still a fan of Albert Haynesworth, but the former Titans D-line coach believes Big Al's days in the NFL are over thanks to a degenerative back condition. That gotta be a boot to the teeth for Al.
Tom Gower takes a look at how we may use Kamerion Wimbley.
Aww, that's cute: Arian Foster thinks the record industry is still a thing. Next thing you know he'll be opening a velocipede store and selling pagers at the mall.
