The rumors are true: former #NFL RB Travis Henry is making a comeback. Turns 34 in October.— Adam Caplan (@caplannfl) July 23, 2012
What is it with 30+ year old running backs trying to make a comeback? Travis Henry becomes the latest guy who thinks he still has what it takes to be an NFL player. Of course the problem with Henry, besides his age, is the fact that he just got out of prison from serving a three-year sentence from drug trafficking. There is also the fact that he has something like 8 kids with 8 different women. There was a report that he had to borrow money from the Titans during his time here to pay his child support. I can't imagine what that monthly total was while he was in the league.
The worst part is Henry had the talent to be a really special player. He was really good for the Titans back in 2006 when he rushed for 1,211 yards and 7 touchdowns.
There was outrage when the Titans allowed him to walk in free agency after that season. It sure looks like they made the right call on that one.
