Frank DuPont, known as Fantasy Douche on Twitter (@FantasyDouche), has listed Jared Cook as one of his three players to watch in training camp for fantasy football purposes. Here is part of why he included Cook on his list:
While Cook finished 14th among TEs in yards last year, he actually finished behind only one other tight end in yards per target. Rob Gronkowski was the only tight end with 70 or more targets to finish with more yards per target than Cook.
That is pretty impressive considering he had a banged up Matt Hasselbeck throwing him the ball for most of the season. That number could be even higher if/when Jake Locker is the quarterback.
Cook has been that sleeper guy for a couple of years now that hasn't really paid off on a weekly basis. He is still a good value if you are playing in a league where there aren't many Titans fans, but you have to spend a pretty high pick on him to get him in a Titans' league.DuPont also lists Stephen Hill and Mark Ingram as players to watch. You already know I love Ingram so I will leave that one alone. Hill is a guy that I wouldn't mind owning in a keeper/dynasty league, but I don't see him having much value this season. It is going to take him a while to get up to speed in a pro-style offense, and he doesn't have a quarterback that can get him the ball down the field.
