Jake Locker and Matt Hasselbeck will be splitting the reps through training camp right down the middle as they try and decide who will start. Munchak has stated that the team will name the starter before the third preseason game, which sounds like a solid plan to me. Any sooner and you're placing to much emphasis on scrimmages, any later and you're asking a lot of a guy to settle into that role so quickly.
A lot has been made about the benefits of Chris Johnson finally being in Nashville full-time and working with the team for the first time, but that's not the only first for CJ: It's the first time as a professional CJ is entering a season with a major chip on his shoulder. Hopefully a little extra bulk, better endurance and a strong competitive fire will all combine to make him better than ever.
Paul K says any optimism about our O-line being better than it was last year is pretty sketchy.
That being said, the two weakest links on our O-line, Leroy Harris and Eugene Amano, are both out right now with injuries. Hopefully one of the young guys can seize the chance to pop through and take a starting spot.
