We are currently working our way through the state of the Titans roster. Today we look at the defensive ends. We previously looked at QB, RB, WR, TE, OT, OG and C.
Defensive end was the position that we all thought they would work on upgrading in free agency and the draft. They did sign, arguably, the second best pass rusher on the market in Kamerion Wimbley, but they did not address the position until very late in the draft. Overall, this is still a very weak spot on the roster.
Click through the jump for a more in-depth look at the defensive ends currently on the Titans' roster.
KAMERION WIMBLEYAge: 28 (turns 29 in October)
Contract: Signed a 5-year $35 million contract this offseason with $13.5 million in guaranteed money
Wimbley was the biggest offseason acquisition for the Titans. He had 7 sacks last season. I can't remember a defensive end for this team having one last season. #kidding #kindof
DERRICK MORGAN
Age: 23
Contract: Entering the third year of his five-year rookie deal
Morgan is dangerously close to having the dread bust label attached to his name. The good news for him is that he is only 23, and he really came on at the end of last season. Hopefully that is a sign of good things to come.
DAVE BALL
Age: 31
Contract: Signed a 1-year $1.27 million contract
Ball was solid in 2010 but struggled with injuries in 2011. He is a solid guy to have in the rotation.
LEGER DOUZABLE
Age: 26
Contract: Signed a 1-year $700,000 contract this offseason
That's right. In the defensive end rotation, Douzable, which I have no idea to pronounce is the front-runner for the 4th spot. He has one sack in three NFL seasons.
PANNEL EGBOH
Age: 26
Contract: Signed a 1-year deal this offseason
Egboh was last preseason's darling, but he didn't end up making the roster. He did at least show some upside.
After that you have Keyunta Dawson, Malcolm Sheppard and Scott Solomon.
