This is one of the worst times of the year for sports if you aren't a baseball fan, or if your favorite baseball team is hopelessly out of the race well before the all-star break. As if it isn't bad enough that the Cubs are terrible, they are going to call up Anthony Rizzo sometime this week, which means that he will not be with the Iowa Cubs when they come to Nashville the first week in July. If they are going to be terrible all year, they could at least give me the chance to see the future in person before they call him up.
What are you doing this time of year to get your sports fix. To me the only month worse than June and July in the scenario above is February. That is mainly because I am not a big basketball fan on either the college or pro level. The best thing I have seen in recent weeks is the replay of the BCS National Championship game from this year.
