I was as surprised as anyone when the Tennessee Titans chose Kendall Wright, WR, Baylor with the 20th pick of the 2012 NFL Draft. We had spent all of our time leading up to the draft talking about the defensive players that would be available with the pick. Ruston Webster threw us a curve ball.
When you step back and look at it, most of the defensive players who had been projected to the Titans were off the board. Webster said they would rather go with a receiver they had rated highly than the third or fourth defensive end on their board. It is hard to argue with that.
The possibilities that Kendall Wright can bring to this offense are pretty endless. He has the top end speed that every NFL offense needs to maximize the big play potential. I cannot wait to see sets with Wright, Kenny Britt, Nate Washington and Jared Cook split out wide.
