First "Live" Titans OTA Takes Place Today

The Titans have had a couple of different OTA sessions this month, but today is the first one that will feature the offense going "live" against the defense. Alterrraun Verner, who has been mainly working at the nickel position, told Craig Peters of Titans Online that he is ready for the challenge:

"It’s all different, when, what I like to say, when it gets ‘real,’ " Verner said. "I can’t wait to go against the receivers and get better in that sense."

The corner position is going to be an interesting one to watch in camp this year. The only thing we know for sure is that Jason McCourty will be starting at one of the outside spots. ATV is going to be on the field a lot somewhere, but it remains to be seen if he will play outside in the base package and slide inside in the nickel, or if he will just play nickel with Chris Hawkins or Tommie Campbell getting the start on the outside. Hawkins was the one called on last season against the Saints when McCourty was injured.

Campbell would appear to have the more upside of the two because he is so athletic, but he also is the most raw of the group because he played safety in college. He should be much more comfortable at corner after having an entire offseason to work on the technique.

Ryan Mouton, who is coming off an Achilles injury, will also be in the mix for that spot.
