Here is another post from the ridiculously too early department. SB Nation has released their post draft 2012 NFL Power Rankings. They have the Titans ranked 16th. This what they had to say about the Titans prospects in 2012:
Chris Johnson needs to be Chris Johnson. If he is, the Titans are legit contenders in the AFC South.
The Titans are going to have enough firepower on offense next year that it won't be nearly as important for "Chris Johnson to be Chris Johnson" in 2012. They will need him to be better than he was last season, but his importance to the 2012 offense is not going to be nearly as high as it was in years past.
I don't have a huge problem with the Titans being there right now. I think they will be better than that, and I don't think the Panthers or Bengals should be ranked ahead of them, but the Titans will have to prove that they are better than a middle of the pack team before they get much respect.
It does make me extremely happy to see the Colts and the Jaguars down at the bottom of that list, and if the Titans can take care of their business next year, they should go 3-1 at worst in those 4 games. That would mean they only have to go 7-5ish against the rest of the schedule to make the playoffs.
