The level of panic over the Tennessee Titans not taking a defensive player in the first round is awesome. Everyone just needs to take a step back and look at the players that are still available in this draft. There is still a lot of defensive meat on the bone..
If the Titans want to get a defensive end who can rush the passer in the second round, guys like Courtney Upshaw, Andre Branch, Vinny Curry and Jared Crick are still available. With the exception of Crick, all of those guys listed could have been first round picks. Crick could be a steal coming off an injury.
If you want the Titans to beef up the interior of the defensive line with a tackle, guys like Devon Still, Brandon Thompson and Jerel Worthy are still available. Like the defensive ends, all three of those tackles could have been first round guys.
Want a cornerback? Brandon Boykin, Alfonzo Dennard, Chase Minniefield and Casey Hayward are still available.
There are also a host of linebackers, including noles's boy Zach Brown, still on the board. This draft has a lot of depth on defense. The Titans still have six picks to add some very good players. Keep in mind that Akeem Ayers, Jurrell Casey, Colin McCarthy and Karl Klug were all picked in the second round or later last season.
