Jay Glazer broke the story tonight that the Washington Redskins and St. Louis Rams have made a trade for the #2 overall pick. The Rams and Redskins swapped picks in this year's draft. St. Louis also got Washington's second round pick in 2012 and first round picks in 2013 and 2014. The Rams get all of that just for moving down four spots. That is a pretty unbelievable move for Jeff Fisher.
I am all about getting your guy at quarterback, but this is way too much for one guy- even if that guy looks to have all of the tools for success that Robert Griffin III does. Think about it this way, the Redskins will not have another first round pick after the select RG3 until 2015. How are they going to surround Griffin with weapons without those picks? They don't have any right now.
Obviously Mike Shanahan is excited about the prospects of working with RG3. It will be interesting to see how it plays out.
