Terry McCormick reports that the Titans do indeed have some interest in acquiring Asante Samuel from the Eagles, if the price is right. Wonder where they got that idea.... The Eagles are reportedly asking for a third round pick. While Samuel carries a cap number of $9.9 million this year and $11.4 million in 2013, he has indicated that he'd be willing to lower that price through renegotiation if he's traded. If the Titans can get the Eagles to bite on a fourth rounder this year, and a future pick that's lower and conditional, they have to pull the trigger on this one. Samuel would be a clear upgrade over Finnegan, and could be had for less money than Cort wanted from the front office. Definitely keep an eye on this potential deal as the draft gets closer.
Kenny Britt says he's healing well, and Jim Wyatt reports that Britt is doing anything and everything he can to show he's grown up. He's been working out and rehabbing under the supervision of the Titans' training staff, enjoying time with his new wife and, save for his honeymoon, he's been doing it all in Nashville. If Britt can get that knee back to 90%, then he should be on the cusp of a season that will shatter franchise records.
Florio takes a look at the new rule changes for the 2012 season. The only significant one seems to be that the obtuse overtime rules that had been used only in the post-season will now be in effect all season long. That officially makes the NFL completely impossible to succinctly explain to a foreigner.
