2012 MCM Mock Draft: At #28, The Green Bay Packers Select....

With the 28th pick of the 2012 Music City Miracles Mock Draft, the Green Bay Packers (represented by Chris Colgan) select:

Andre Branch, DE, Clemson University

Chris Colgan tells us:

Two of the Packer's primary needs in this year's draft are DE and a Rush Linebacker and Andre Branch potentially helps the team out in both positions until a permanent solution can be found for whichever of those two positions Branch is not eventually permanently settled into. Branch's 6'4 1/4" frame should allow him to pack on some bulk if he does remain a DE at the next level. At the same time, he has shown good footwork when he's been asked to drop back in coverage (according to MTD's Dan Kadar). The versatility of Branch will be a major point of attraction for the Packer's as they will undoubtedly realize that at 28th there just aren't any truly dynamic pass rusher's left available, nor are there any pure rush linebackers available worthy of the spot. Branch presents a solid compromise.
