So two huge stories just broke at almost the exact same time. Adam Schefter is reporting that the NFL has suspended Sean Payton for a year, Gregg Williams indefinitely, and Mikey Loomis for 8 games. The league also fined the Saints $500,000, Loomis $500,000 and took away their second round draft picks in 2012 and 2013.
I told you Roger Goodell was going to send a message. Let me just say that I think this is ridiculous. Is there any part for trying to injure someone in the NFL? No, but this stuff is going on in every locker room.
On the other hand, if the Saints were dumb enough to get caught, I guess the deserve it.
The other story, broken by Jay Glazer, is that the New York Jets have traded a fourth round pick for Tim Tebow. I guess the Jets decided they needed two bad quarterbacks on their roster instead of just one.
Outside of John Elway's two Super Bowl wins, this has to be the greatest week of his football life. Not only did he land Peyton Manning, but he got a team to give him something for Tebow.
