See, things are on the upswing already. The Titans desperately needed to get some pass rushing help, and they have now done just that. This looks like an excellent deal for the Titans with $11.5 of the $13.5 million guaranteed will hit this year. That means that it will cost them nothing to cut him loose if the is not effective after the second year of the deal.
The interesting thing with Wimbley will be how the Titans use him. He is only 255. That is a shift from the bigger defensive ends that Jerry Gray talked about last year. That is smaller than Jason Babin, and about the same as Jacob Ford, who they decided they had no use for last season.
This is a good signing that will give Gray some versatility to use different fronts.
