David Climer makes a desperate grab for readers by putting 38 year-old, washed-up possession receiver who seems more interested in being in front of the camera than in the huddle in his headline.
Scouts Inc. looks at the team needs of the entire AFC South, and Paul K correctly states that they're underestimating our CBs behind Cortland Finnegan.
On MCM Radio this past Monday I stated that Michael Griffin's agent would probably have Griff's signature on a franchise tender before the ink was dry on it, and the potential free agent safety said essentially the same thing on 102.5 The Game. Nobody in the league is going to give Griffin top 5 money, and most likely not even a lucrative long-term deal, so he'd be crazy to turn down that big of a payday:
"Would I be happy?" Griffin said to 102.5 The Game's First Quarter, co-hosted by TitanInsider's Darren McFarland and former Titans tackle Brad Hopkins. "Talking to my mother and coming from a great background, one of the best things she ever said was, ‘That's a lot more money than you ever played for in any season you ever played. You can't really be upset because you played for $3 million last year and you'd play for 6.2 million this year.'"
PFT looks at the possibility of the Titans adding Robert Mathis and Reggie Nelson. My thoughts are that Mathis is too small for Gray, most likely, but Nelson could make sense if the Titans don't think they'll go after Barron in the draft.
Florida running back Chris Rainey is out to try and break Chris Johnson's 40-yard dash record (now shared with Rondel Melendez) of 4.29.
Peter King notes that the final draft order won't be set until Friday morning, when officials from the Panthers, Dolphins, Chiefs and Seahawks will meet to watch the coin tosses that will settle their tie-breaker.
