Ankle tackle from behind? Now that's Titans tackling!

Tennessee_titans_30x21 Former Titans executive Jeff Diamond lays out the roadmap for each team in the NFL, though his assertion that the Titans may let Finnegan walk and use the franchise tag on none other than Michael Griffin makes me question his sanity. The franchise tag for safeties (as best as I can find) could be north of $10 million. That would be crazier than franchising Bo Scaife. Griffin isn't garbage, but he hasn't been close to elite since 2008.

Tennessee_titans_30x21 Former Pro Bowler Lofa Tatupu worked out for the Titans yesterday. The undersized MLB is attempting a come back at the ripe old age of 29 after missing 2011 while recovering from a knee injury. Tatupu will get a lot of looks around the league, and could provide at the least a solid veteran reserve option. It's worth noting that Mike Reinfedlt, Ruston Webster and Lake Daswon were all in Seattle when the franchise drafted Tatupu.

Tennessee_titans_30x21 Is there anyone who would be excited about adding Albert Haynesworth at this point? Albert is only 30, and was largely cut due to his $7 million cap number for next season. If anyone else does sign him, that'll be the fourth uniform he's put over the past 16 months or so.

Tennessee_titans_30x21 The Titans signed local product Lamar Divens, a 6'3" 343 lb. monster who spent last season on Tampa Bay's practice quad. Divens played college ball at TSU and Vanderbilt, and graduated from high school at nearby Lincoln County. Divens had the option of re-signing with the Bucs, but opted to leave for greener pastures.

Tennessee_titans_30x21 PFF rates the top FA edge rushers of the upcoming free agent class, which includes a lot of guys who would be an instant upgrade for our anemic pass rush.

Tennessee_titans_30x21 The NFL may repeal the rules that trigger black outs for home games that aren't sold out, which is a situation the Titans have always avoided.

Tennessee_titans_30x21 Oh, Randy. Poor, poor Randy.

Tennessee_titans_30x21 In the least surprising news ever, Jeff Fisher has been reinstated to the league's competition committee. Fisher had to resign the spot last season once he decided to take the year off after the Titans fired him, but everyone knew he would get it back once he took another job.
