On [Insert Kicker Here] Was Making it From There in Warmups

One of the dumbest things that is every said about a football game.

To Mike Munchak's credit, I have not seen that he said after the game they attempted the 57 yard field goal early in the game because Rob Bironas was making them from there in warm-ups, but that was something the announcers were saying on the broadcast. That has to be one of the dumbest things anyone says about football. Ever.

Do people not understand that there is no snap or hold in warm-ups? Or that there is no limit to how low the ball can be kicked because there is no one rushing the kick? I just really cannot understand why people continue to run that excuse out there.

On the decision to kick the field goal there, I just don't get it. There was a time in Bironas's career that you would feel like that kick was automatic, but that is not the case this season. He has been pretty erratic.

I don't understand why they didn't go for it there. At least if you don't get it, the Colts have the ball at the line of scrimmage and not the spot of the kick. Of course I would go for it every time it was 4th and 5 or shorter, so I might not be the best person to speak on this subject.
