Tennessee Titans Daily Links: I Hereby Revoke The Titans' Right To Talk Edition

facepalms all around.

Brett Davis-US PRESSWIRE - Presswire

Tennessee_titans_30x21 Jake Locker may not have structural damage to his shoulder, but the scuttlebutt around the NFL is that it won't heal until the Titans give him a chance to rest. If that's really the case, and they don't want to risk it, expect Locker to sit through the next two games (there's only four days between the next two contests) so that he gets three full weeks with the bye. Personally, I'm a it confused as to why damage to the one joint you barely move while throwing the ball is a cause for rest. Why couldn't they just bandage the hell out of it and see what happens?

Tennessee_titans_30x21 The Houston Texans pissed away and thoughts I may have had about the physicality and toughness of their defense by whining for the second time in four games about 'dirty play' from an opposing lineman. Unless someone gets hurt, shut up. Also, taking a swing at a guy with a helmet on is not dirty, it's stupid. So, you can say David Stewart is a stupid player for swinging on Reed and Barwin, but it's not dirty. Spearing Chris Johnson while he's already tackled? Now that's dirty. On top of that, I don't give a damn if our offensive line does get dirty from time to time. Any good O-line steps over that line on occasion. Final point: quit whining about opposing offensive lines when your own line's entire scheme is based on cut blocks and diving at knees to create running lanes.

Tennessee_titans_30x21 When you look up the idiom 'damning with faint praise', Chris Johnson's comments about the offensive line should be the first example given. By CJ saying he'll only be as good as his offensive line, he's outright blaming them for the horrendous running game leading up to this game. Also, CJ's making WAY too much money to be only as good as his offensive line. A better way to say this would have been to say it was nice for he and the offensive line finally clicked for a full game, and we're going to build on that; next question.

Tennessee_titans_30x21 Awesome: if it wasn't already crystal clear that Leroy Harris is an abomination of an offensive guard, he's also a stone cold dumb-dumb. Even worse is that our coach backed-up his inane drivel. I don't care if you blocked JJ Watt's pass rush well outside of two plays, because the two plays you got killed on resulted in drive-ending sacks at key points in the game. Hey, Abe Lincoln's bodyguards had a sterling record outside of that one night at the theater.

Tennessee_titans_30x21 One big part of our awful defense's issues: they've only created two takeaways thus far. Most teams aren't going to win many games while 32nd in points (37.8 per game) and carrying a -6 turnover ratio.

Tennessee_titans_30x21 Colin McCarthy should be able to practice on a limited basis this week, and the team hopes he'll be ready to play on Sunday.

Tennessee_titans_30x21 Zac Diles had a great day against the run on Sunday, and he clearly supplanted Witherspoon as the back-up MLB. Of course, because he's a LB for the Titans, he still couldn't cover a TE.
