1. Fernando Velasco
The Titans have to avoid becoming one-dimensional against the Steelers on Thursday night. In order for this to happen, we have to have a running game. I would say that Leroy Harris has to play above par to open running lanes for the "playmaker", but I don't trust #64. So it's time for our new center, Velasco, who hasn't been putrid, to open up the lanes. Some strong pass blocking would be very helpful as well.
2. Jared Cook
Jared has made it known that he wants to be more involved in the passing game. I'm glad he called no one out and made it known he wants to be more involved by saying nothing at all. So now that we know he wants this, it's time for him to step up. We all know that he is very capable. So whenever he does get in the game, he needs to be dynamic.
3. Karl Klug
Where is Karl Klug? I'm not sure, but it's time for him to step up. He isn't getting in much in the games, but it's his time. When he gets in the game, KLUUUUUUGGGGG needs to do what he did his rookie season. If Klug can disrupt Benjamin in his pocket, we will have much more success than we've had in the previous weeks. Klug has to step up, for the love of MCM.
4. Jordan Babineaux
"Big Play Babs" did a wonderful job against the Vikings, giving the Titans a first down on a trick play and intercepting a Christian Ponder pass. What I love about that interception is that he left his assignment to catch the ball. He trusted his instincts and tried to make a play. It is time for more players to do this. If Babs can pick up Griff's slack, there will be some success by the defense.
5. Colin McCarthy
C-Mac had a bad game against the Vikings. It really made me wonder if he was still injured because he just did not play as the #52 that we know and love at MCM. If Colin can come back and make some big plays with Babineaux, the defense will get off the field often and allow the offense to put points up on the board.
This game isn't a loss for sure. Although it looks ugly, I think we can win.
Go Titans!
