One of the intriguing guys on the list of Titans heading to free agency is Jason Jones. By all accounts Jones' move to DE resulted in a universal 'meh', but that doesn't mean Gray can't get more out of him with a full offseason. I don't see Gray moving Jones back inside, but he could adjust Jones' training schedule or responsibilities to try and get more pressure of the edge. Side note: thumbs down to the Tennessean's staff for making me look at even a sliver of Jones' bare ass.
What will happen if Jerry Gray goes in and crushes his interview with the Bucs ala Mike Tomlin with the Steelers? My guess is Munch pushes Dave McGinnis to take it, or has to go for longshot hire. Either way, there won't be a good option out on the street.
PFF has the final Re-Focused for the Titans' 2011 season up, and it's not so welcomed news for Colin McCarthy. At least they're kind enough to point out that many MLBs struggle against those Broncos-style zone-blocking teams.
Paul K has the most comprehensive recap on what Jeff Fisher wants in a team, which teams fit the bill, which assistants Fisher might call upon to round out his staff and what personal relationships could come into play as the great mustachioed one looks for his second head coaching gig ever. Honestly, Fisher has to be quietly disappointed that some of the more plumb jobs that looked like they might be in play a month ago aren't: namely San Diego and Philly. But for a guy who so values a friendly GM and a franchise QB, you can do a lot worse than Jacksonville, Kansas City and St. Louis
One job that doesn't make sense to me, unless Fisher and the front office are dedicated to drafting a QB with the 9th pick in the draft, is Miami. Still, there are worse places to be wined and dined than South Beach.
Reports are also out there that Chicago is Jeff Fisher's dream job, but there no way he'd actually shiv Lovie Smith like that.
With all of the talk about Fisher as the big prize this offseason, expect to see more and more of these columns, justifiably, being brought up. Honestly, you can ask the same questions about Gruden, who consistently gets pursued for jobs.
Former Titans executive Jeff Diamond weighs in at length on the Colts' Peyton/Luck dilemma.
Speaking of folks who used to get checks from Bud Adams, former Titans LB Peter Sirmon has left UT to coach closer to his North West roots at UW.
