First off, Happy New Year everyone! Here is to hoping that 2012 brings you many good things and a lot of wins for the Titans (hopefully that one starts today).
I am really nervous about this one. The Titans have not won a game that they absolutely had to win since the 2003 playoff game in Baltimore. The last time they won a big game was back in 2008 against the Steelers at home, but all that win did was give them home field advantage throughout the playoffs. They still would have been the #2 seed in the playoffs if they lost.
The other reason this game makes me so nervous is because of the way the Texans beat the Titans here. They did have Matt Schaub in that game, but he was not the reason they won so easily. The only big play he was involved in was the long touchdown pass to Arian Foster, but any middle school quarterback could have made that throw.
They were also without Andre Johnson in that one. He is going to play today.
The key here is stopping the Texans rushing attack. They piled up over 200 yards at LP Field. If that happens again today, the Titans will lose.
The scenario post yesterday was a disaster, so I'll just say that the best thing that can happen early is for the Titans and Jets to win. We will talk about the rest at 3 this afternoon.
GO TITANS!!
