Continuing the trend of Nashville being the Seattle of the south, the Titans have agreed to terms with former Seahawks safety Jordan Babineaux according to Jim Wyatt and Terry McCormick. The Titans have not yet confirmed the report.
Babineaux has been with Seattle for all of his seven years in the NFL. He has 10 career interceptions and 4.5 career sacks. He appears to be more of an in the box guy than a deep coverage guy.
Safety is a position where we had speculated they would look to add someone, and it appears that they have finally done that. I find it hard to believe that they would cut Chris Hope at this point after paying him a $500,000 roster bonus last week, but Babineaux looks to be a guy that will come in here and push him for a job.
In other news, it looks like the CBA will be ratified this afternoon so the guys that have been signed as free agents will finally be able to practice with the team tonight.
