Tennessee Titans Training Camp Battles to Watch: Defensive Tackles

New, comments

It looks like the Tennessee Titans might have some depth at defensive tackle. The last two days Karl Klug and Zach Clayton have been out there with the starters. You also have guys like Jovan Haye, Sen'Derrick Marks (who has been hurt), Jurrell Casey and free agent signing Shaun Smith. All of these guys seem to be in the mix for starting spots.

Last year by the end of the season the Titans were desperate for bodies to put in the middle of the defensive line. They were undersized and got run down as the season went along. It doesn't look like that is going to be a problem this season.

Now not all of these guys will end up on the roster. They will probably end up keeping five. Casey and Smith are locks. That means you would have Klug, Clayton, Haye and Marks fighting for the other 3 spots. My guess would be that Haye needs to have a really good camp to make the team, but they could also try to sneak Clayton on to the practice squad if he struggles in camp.
